Human Sprouts
A reader apparently glanced at this page with its quotes from the Bible and concluded that the Whole Human web site "has religion in it."
Just to be clear for anyone who might read further, the Whole Human website does not have religion in it — unless a quote from the Bible used in a non-religious way is still considered religion. I mention on this site my experiences as a Christian before 2000. In that year, I made changes in my life and started to live my truth. I learned much from being a religious person, and have integrated those lessons and moved on. Once, when my wife and I were giving a hitch-hiker a ride, we were asked, 'What is your religion?' Kati, new to English and trying to find the words, answered, "We follow an inner religion." Then she re-considered and added, "Only, it is not really a religion and we don't really follow it." That still applies today. |
… For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want. But if I am doing the very thing I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.… Romans 7: 18-20, biblehub.com
As a Christian, I read the Bible twice through from Genesis to Revelations and carried it with me everywhere I went. At that time, I often said, 'my religion is my relationship with Jesus.' Over a long process of growing into my truth, I let go of religion and putting my power and authority outside myself. I had God in a box, but He got out. One of my sayings in those years of transition was, 'I practice having no beliefs.' Then someone responded, 'Even that is a belief.' I have a model to present but more as sharing my journey, experience and discoveries for reflection by the reader and integrating as felt. It is not intended as another box of beliefs or ideology. My ideal for this site is to have a reader base which also shares personal journeys, experiences and discoveries within some parameters so the model is not so single but evolves as higher group consciousness. My relationship with the felt image held of Y'shua, a man in history who embodied the e-qualities, is ever-strong. I now realize the terms 'good, evil and sin' are fear and guilt generating labels which separate a person from the wholeness they belong to, and are used by those who seek power to control others. I can still identify with Paul's struggle. However, the ego (or trigger-reaction behavior) that I once struggled with in myself is simply an aspect that is partial and still in development, like the seedling of a tree in dry ground. |

Our knowledge is incomplete and our ability to speak what God has revealed is incomplete. But when what is complete comes, then what is incomplete will no longer be used. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, thought like a child, and reasoned like a child. When I became an adult, I no longer used childish ways. Now we see a blurred image in a mirror. Then we will see very clearly. Now my knowledge is incomplete. Then I will have complete knowledge as God has complete knowledge of me. - 1 Corinthians 13, 9-12, GOD'S WORD® Translation, biblehub.com
From a whole human perspective, adults have not fully put the ways of a child behind them so long as incomplete thoughts and emotions rule. When the e-qualities are embodied and all actions are from higher feelings, then the adult emerges. Emotions are reactions triggered by stimuli such as an event, something said, something thought. Feelings are constant currents whose source is independent of humans. They are translated from those universal currents of Nature into human experience. Feelings in the whole human sense are an inborn, human capacity mostly hidden from view by the chaos, numbness and delusion of thought and emotion. What is commonly said to be 'only natural' for humans mostly is social conditioning. It has no meaning or relevance outside the matrix of society. Some say to this, 'Not all of us are monks or nuns,' or 'We're only human.' Or, as a salesperson said of his company, 'We're no worse than the rest.' Such sayings make suitable banners for the cause of mediocrity. Those who know more is possible can see a greater vision for humanity. To let go of my thoughts and merge into the flow, to be with what I am, with what I feel and know, to step back into nature and from the world to wean, for what a human being can be, the world has never seen. What *can* a human being be? |
Following is one version of maturing spiritually from a human sprout to a whole human:

Sprout Asks
How can I get what I want? Whole Human Asks How can I give? : Sprout Asks How can I be better than others? Whole Human Asks How can I be a better model to inspire others as well? : Sprout Asks How can I best serve my interests? Whole Human Asks How can I best serve Wholeness? : Sprout Asks How can I get people to do what I want? Whole Human Asks How can I better the situation from a perspective of the whole? Sprout Asks How can I get people to do what I want? Whole Human Asks How can I better the situation from a perspective of the whole? |
When a Sprout says, "I love you," it often means "you have something I want."
Whole Humans simply emanate the love they are. : The Sprout lives in thought projections and emotional desires while the whole human merges with the greater existence and emanates the e-qualities, acting from higher human feelings. : The Sprout dis-associates, dominates, competes. The Whole Human connects, communes, co-operates and co-creates. : The Sprout accumulates, serves desires, has goals and objectives, achieves, accomplishes, produces, gets, strives.... The Whole Human gives freely from heart-centered intelligence, serves Wholeness, knows what is emerging and flows actively with it. : The Sprout defends, excuses, blames, dramatizes, is offended, disappointed, envious, jealous, proud, selfish, and seeks attention. The Whole Human has no need to receive attention, to defend or blame, joyfully accepts self responsibility, abides in calmness, brushes off offense, is self-contained and -content, and serves Life. |
Distinguishing between 'lower emotions' and 'higher feelings' may serve to heighten self-awareness in the cause of self-liberation.
Generally, the lower emotions are considered normal and part of being human. Maybe so, but are they 'normal' only because that is the social conditioning at this stage of development? Others have explored these subjects to a much greater depth than I. My sense is that lower emotions are moving, unstable energies which can be guided to bridge to a higher human state, which is the emerging 'norm.' Emotions of the human sprout are energies in motion, passing storms. When mastered they can bridge between the incomplete human sprout and the stable higher feelings of the whole human. This is the 'work' of shifting from being a 'sprout' to being a whole human.
Some 'higher human feelings' which often are life-affirming (depending on their mix with other emotions, motives and energies) are: Abundance Acceptance Appreciation Authenticity Balance Beauty Celebration Clarity Compassion Confidence Constancy Courage Creativity Empathy Equanimity Grace Harmony Humor Integration Integrity Joy Kindness Love Peace Play Presence Purity Strength Surrender Wholeness Will Wisdom Universal love is one of the primary frequencies emanated by the creative source. It translates through human actions as appreciation, kindness, compassion, empathy, generosity, inclusion, respect, warmth, heart-centered intelligence and so on. Confidence from the heart, without hubris, is a type of self-empowered faith. |
