How would you describe the distinctions between choices made by the ego, intellect, emotions, and soul? To me, if: Ego generally functions from the gut center, in association with the instincts; Intellect is generated by the rational center of the brain, sometimes inter-acting with emotions; Emotions are the body's automatic, gland-generated chemical reactions to sensory stimulations, and the memories and projections processed by the brain; and Soul exists in the connection between the heart and the pineal gland, then Ego choices are characterized by serving the gut; Intellectual choices are characterized by serving rationality; Emotional choices are characterized by serving automatic, gland-generated chemical reactions; and Soul choices are characterized by serving the connection between heart and pineal gland, the Third Eye or Eye of Ra. Self and Will 'float' between these centers, so self (lower case) may be based in the gut, intellect or emotions in any combination, and Self (upper case) exists with Soul in the connection between the heart and the pineal gland. In general: Ego choices will be fear and survival based, defensive, manipulative, rigid, reactive, suspicious, etc. Intellectual choices will be unemotional (sometimes cold,) rational, based on analysis, reason and logic; Emotional choices will be impulsive, needy, attached, sentimental, activistic, sometimes warm and empathetic, often in association with ego; Soul choices will be expansive, universal, unconditional, unattached to ego, emotion or intellect, associated with lofty qualities such as magnanimity, compassion, forgiveness, inner peace, altruism, serving the most complete perspective.... I like to expand my perspective, and make it more complete, by understanding yours. Karl Edwards Choices made from your soul or your essence will not be cloudy. You will feel them being right and peaceful. Ego choices will leave you not satisfied. Always wanting more. Emotional choices will drive your ego, hurt your soul and leave you trying to get to sleep at night. Marvel Ous G: Ego generally functions from the gut center, in association with the instincts M: The ego is not confined to an instinctual consciousness. It can adapt, act as a catalyst for epigenetic triggers, can cater to humor frequencies which propel other states such as love to different consciousness states, more uniting and then the ego itself can reprogram it's own based on the new state. There are no fixed innate patterns with ego that cannot evolve to other interpretations and this is very different than what we know of instinct based patterns. G: Ego choices are characterized by serving the gut; Intellectual choices are characterized by serving rationality; Emotional choices are characterized by serving automatic, gland-generated chemical reactions; and Soul choices are characterized by serving the connection between heart and pineal gland, the Third Eye or Eye of Ra. M: The ego can certainly serve the rational and heart/pineal as well. It's not like there is absolutely no communication between them. There is. They simple serve each other in different ways. This is an attempt to make matter of fact associations when there are none. We can make statements from a human based consciousness of what a soul choice is but we haven't a clue except the life we're living out now. Anything else is theory about the soul wanting this or that. You're human. We know the soul wanted that. Any other imaginations between the third eye and Eye of Ra are invented by humans. G: Ego choices will be fear and survival based, defensive, manipulative, rigid, reactive, suspicious, etc. M: Humor is incorporated extremely well into the egoic self. And it is not based on necessarily any of these things. You make the ego sound so horrible hahaha. I feel this is where we strongly diverge in our opinions Gary, as your thoughts here align more with new age metaphysical concepts that have massively distorted the absolute loveliness of the ego. G: Soul choices will be expansive, universal, unconditional, unattached to ego, emotion or intellect, associated with lofty qualities such as magnanimity, compassion, forgiveness, inner peace, altruism, serving the most complete perspective... M: Ok so the torture and killing of children then. Would it be fair to state then based on your description here, that if a human being experiences this behavior that it would not be a soul choice? Gary M: Any other imaginations between the third eye and Eye of Ra are invented by humans.... G: 'In a universe of probabilities, we are the initiators ~ the creators of our human experience. What do you choose to create? The Third Eye and the Eye of Ra are to me one and the same. If I choose to create a stronger energy connection between the Eye of Ra and the heart sphere, whether that is a true vision coming from my inner sight, or an imagination, am I not acting as the creator of my human experience? So long as I am learning, growing, and feeling well with it, what is the harm? There is nothing 'wrong' with any of us. No change is 'needed'. Yet neither is anything 'wrong' with a blank canvas, and still the artist paints on it. Why? Because he or she is an artist. I choose to be the artist of my life, and I am happy with my painting. M: I feel this is where we strongly diverge in our opinions Gary, as your thoughts here align more with new age metaphysical concepts that have massively distorted the absolute loveliness of the ego.... G: Which concepts are your thoughts aligned with, Marvel? Can you not accept that we merely have differing definitions of the ego and soul? I do not feel aligned with new age concepts, but with my inner knowing, which so far on my journey has guided me well. M: Ok so the torture and killing of children then. Would it be fair to state then based on your description here, that if a human being experiences this behavior that it would not be a soul choice? G: It would be fair to ask the question. I resist the temptation to ask, 'What is fair?' M.O., I do not claim to have all the answers. If there is a soul as many believe, none of us really knows what 'soul' means, what its characteristics, properties, state or purpose are in actuality. What my soul is to me likely is not what soul is to others. I know, from inner knowing, and my own choice of words and their definitions, that any of my behaviors which do not honor the whole of life and serve its betterment (from the most complete perspective) would not be a soul choice. Bruce Adams (not responding to my post, but in a related discussion) Response to a friend's post...Wow what a can of worms…Although I agree with much of what you wrote, the statement that “Fleas are not aware; fish are not aware; dogs are not aware; trees and rocks are not aware; human beings are not aware.”, is not correct…Truth is “Everything” has awareness at some level…ants for example will attack and kill other ants that are not from their colony… birds can sense a change in the weather or navigate by tuning into electromagnetic fields that humans can pick up on…That does not mean however, everything is AWARE of being AWARE…only that everything and everyone has varying degrees of awareness…Which is why in "Prophet or Madman" pg. 49 I wrote about re-birthing as it was meant to be understood…AWAKEN to the infinite SELF beyond the ego self… Our brother Jesus spoke many times of having the “eyes to see.” In this world, confusion derives from looking at things through the eyes of Man instead of the eyes of Spirit. The eyes of Man are based on Illusion (perception stemming from Judgment), and the eyes of Spirit are based on Reality (witness to Love without Judgment). This dichotomy will remain as long as the Ego (the human mind) believes it is in charge of your experiences. In order to move beyond this confusion, you must constantly remind yourself that your Real or true nature is not the human mind, but something far greater and much more powerful. I am referring to a Consciousness that exists beyond time and space. Although this state is unfamiliar to almost all people, it is actually your authentic nature! It awaits your discovery. It is only after such a discovery that the fullness of life is realized. And until such time that you discover and explore the inner realms of Creation—where you will be awakened to your Higher Self—you will continue to experience only a minuscule piece of What Is. Later I explain that the mind is not capable of reacting or interacting but rather is the place that stores the program of belief… Reprogramming If you don't take the time to continually see God as all things, your Ego will pull you back into old habits. You will not be able to maintain your highest Truth. There is a razor’s edge between seeing with the eyes of Soul and with the eyes of Man. In order to change how you view things, you have to reprogram your mind to accept a Higher Truth.
