SUMMARY This post was handwritten while sitting on a bench at the lake during my daily walk. It began as a muse on the line from my reminder words, repeated below: 'Feeling 'What Is' Now.' I asked myself, "What does it mean, to 'feel what is Now?'" and then sought to feel it. The outcome is this long post, meant for those with whom it resonates. It grew beyond the handwritten over the next few days and was composed from various of my writings and comments so could appear patchwork. A common theme is bringing the abstract conceptual into practical application for the betterment of life on earth 🌎 by living from non-separation awareness. My ideas may be naive and idyllic, but in them is the trust that when individuals live from non-separation awareness, heightened empathy follows. With that, caring for community is a natural outcome. I am not a follower of anyone or anything. My first commitment is to the Present Moment. Understanding the message herein, if that is what the reader wants, may require reading it as a human without labels. FEELING WHAT IS NOW What does it mean, to 'feel what is Now?' In my unique, individuated experience, it is to feel the underlying unity of all in a way that overrides the normal senses. This is not the same as inter-connectedness, which implies separate objects/events connected by something, whether associations in the mind, or strands of particles. 'What is' includes AllThatIs and IsNot, non-separated. Sure it sounds like an abstract concept, but only when approached by the analytical mind. These words will seem far away until they are approached over deeper feeling. It is commonly said, 'go within,' but the outer and inner are only apparently separated by barriers in the mind. Eckhart Tolle wrote that the Now is a mystical perspective, and I've not improved upon that description. Again, I am not a follower, and using quotes does not imply a particular mindset, or adherence to the author. Wikipedia says, 'Mysticism is popularly known as becoming one with God or the Absolute, but may refer to any kind of ecstasy or altered state of consciousness which is given a religious or spiritual meaning.' To me, there is no 'becoming one' as there never was any real separation. A clearer picture is that the barriers in the mind dissolve to allow an expansion of awareness to realize the One Being I Am, in divine duality. The Present Moment is an entranceway to the underlying unity which goes deeper, to the consciousness of non-separation. How does that work as I sit here, looking at the trees across the lake from me? Do I try to convince my mind they are not separate? No, of course they are distinct from each other, when perceived over human faculties for interpreting sensory input. The deeper is not perceived but felt, and this faculty though innate in all, is weak it seems in most, and overwhelmed by input through the senses. Sensory deprivation seems not the answer to the dilemma, because when a person returns to daily life as they eventually must, the bombardment again overwhelms, and nothing has changed. But the faculty of intuitive feeling over the apparent body of sensations, or even on a subatomic level, won't likely develop by itself and magically manifest one day. At the same time, any exercises or techniques driven by willful intention will only raise barriers to the felt experience of oneness. Anything which releases surface muscle tension and deeper inner tensity, and relaxes the body-mind, is no doubt beneficial on many focal planes of awareness including the cellular realization of non-separation. But, just soaking in a hot springs pool won't do it either, so there has to be more to it. In separation there are of course 'inner' and 'outer' and other spatial references. In non-separation, the oneness of the whole is pre-dominant. As my experience of this embodied wholeness is still limited, I can only conceive how it may be. It is with movement within awareness, between separation and non-separation and awareness of the awareness. Non-separation doesn't even separate between it and separation, but experiences itself as a continuum. There is no aim to be more one than another, only yielding to be moved by the True Self, the cosmos of consciousness. 'Seeing' non-separation means recognizing everything as a whole with its counterpart, so there is not one without the other. Deeper still than this is pure awareness. In non-separation, each individual is free and encouraged to be an individual, with an understanding of the underlying unity that is not human made. That unity is equally acknowledged. And the unity crosses all apparent boundaries, including between humans and nature. This feels to be a major leap, yet it is a simple adjustment and personal choice. Are some ready for it? What would support the expansion of awareness to non-separation consciousness? I don't have the answers to these questions, and have not yet experienced the extended oneness consciousness which I know in my heart to be possible. Why it matters to me is the nagging feeling that the next step of human evolution, and any lasting solutions to the problems of the world, begin with a shift in personal identification to something like, 'I am the One Being (the cosmos of consciousness) in divine duality' or 'I am an individual of the One Being.' And that identification is only embodied and made practical by having the felt experience of it. Some say that a person cannot embody oneness consciousness due to the immense intensity of its energy. I am not talking about the fullness of the Godhead dwelling bodily, but about the expansion of awareness to oneness consciousness, integrated and evidenced by one's quality of actions. Mere mental apprehension is not enough. This feels within the realm of possibility, and may have to do with conscious shifting between a particle and wave existence. However, waves and particles are still apparent — only non-separation is not. Living from embodied non-separate awareness is to me is the practical application of theories such as 5D living, ascending, awakening, Christing, enlightening, and self-realizing. At a crossroads in my early twenties, I was corresponding with a leader in a community of sun gazers. Their practice was claimed to raise vibrations to a high level. I asked in a letter if any had so raised their vibration that they would be invisible to others, like me. Her answer was 'Yes, but some have also negated.' That didn't sound good. I lost interest and never learned what it meant to negate, or if there was any truth to the claims. Yet the idea of, and longing for, human spiritual evolution has run as a theme through my lifetime, and nothing has shaken it. Whatever doesn't work adds to what is learned, and there is incremental progress. This repeats my earlier writing, as a closing summary to this post: Freedom emerges from commitment to Love for Love Itself, in the Moment. Such commitment approaches the darkness with compassion, confidence, and nurturing. When darkness is apparent separation from the One, and Light is a restoration to wholeness, the commitment is to stay with the darkness of separation into the wholeness of Light. When freedom is unrestricted movement in every aspect of existence, and the free flow of energy is Love for Love Itself, and Love for Love Itself is the essence of the cosmos of consciousness, and the cosmos of consciousness is the True Self of All, then true freedom can be realized as living from the True Self, and being moved by the One. I Am the One Being, Boundless and Aware, Present and Complete, Moving yet Unmoved, In Divine Duality. I Am the Continuum, Non-separate Between, AllThatIs and IsNot, Feeling 'What Is' Now, Moved by the One. The darkness of apparent separation exists only in my individuated mind, which sets up barriers such as anger, fear, judgment, arrogance and bitterness. When with diligence the barrier filters are dissolved, I see the world more through eyes of love, tenderness, confidence, knowing and compassion — the qualities of the True Self. Your response is appreciated. COMMENTS ON 'FREEDOM' POST The commenters preferred not to have their comments to my Liberty post included here, so these are only my responses. Gary Yes, _______, faith tells me the outcome will be beneficial. Wisdom tells me to not get entangled in the drama. Confidence assures me I will know what I need to know in the Moment, and be able to navigate the whitewater rapids as they come. Gary Over my years, I have made some relatively small differences by caring, and putting that into writings which had positive outcomes for the environment. The small differences are nice but not enough. No lasting beneficial change will come from activism or politics. Mahatma Gandhi is misquoted as saying, 'Be the Change.' A researcher wrote that Gandhi never said those words, which were designed to sell bumper stickers. But, the general idea applies. Gary Looked up Turtle Island. Is this what you mean? Where is Turtle Island? For some Indigenous peoples, Turtle Island refers to the continent of North America. The name comes from various Indigenous oral histories that tell stories of a turtle that holds the world on its back. - Wikipedia I understand your feelings, that my approach seems not hands on or proactive enough. For me, lasting change has to start with a foundation... and what I write feels like a way. Neither the oneness consciousness nor the hands on approach, without the other, will be effective in the end. It takes both. No amount of social programs or grassroots movements will bring sustainable change unless there is also a fundamental shift in consciousness, or put another way, a substantial expansion of awareness. I understand the resistance to this idea, when people are angry and fighting for survival. But surely without spiritual evolution, any conventional efforts will have short term effects. It doesn't have to be called spiritual, and could instead be phrased as lived awareness of non-separation, for example. The conventional approach may be more satisfying for immediate gratification, but though I appreciate the alleviation of suffering, short term solutions alone are not of much interest to me. *** The image is by an artist 👩🎨 unknown to me. Cameron Chapman I resonated with your words, though there is no "What is not." It's only just a matter of recognizing possibilities such that for example "War is" then after it ends it is not, It has to exist either as imagination or reality before one can consider it "not being" So there is no original "Not Being" or "Nothing." It ALL comes from the darkness which "Is" Gary Thank you for sharing that insightful perspective. May I add your comment to my post? It depends on how we define WhatIsNot, doesn't it? My definition of it as the preexistence of probabilities will be modified by your insight.... Still, that view also has some merit, if 'what is' includes only what exists to our minds. Cameron Chapman Interesting could you explain in other words how WhatIsNot can exist? Yes please do add it to your post. Gary If links are permitted here I can give you one to my blog post which details more broadly. This is an excerpt from what I wrote but I also see your perspective that even non or pre existence exists. And I love expanding my awareness by this exploration. AndIsNot, sometimes called NoneThatIs, refers to the unmanifest states of probabilities. It is the no-thing, the Void. 'AllThatIs and IsNot' points to the contrasts of duality. Only in duality can there be contrasts. Only in duality can there be individuality. In the Unified Continuum, the apparent separation between AllThatIs and IsNot has dissolved. Awakening expands awareness from 'duality reality' to the 'Unified Continuum', while remaining aware of both. ... A few years ago I engaged a group of physicists in a discussion. They forbade me to use the words 'exist' or 'consciousness', saying those are in the realm of philosophy, not science. I believe in the ineffable state of probabilities predicted by quantum mechanics theory, where time and space do not exist. Yet can my imagination even approach it? If my mind cannot apprehend it and my senses do not perceive it, does it really exist to me? Bob Berman, co-author of Beyond Biocentrism, wrote of his oneness experience. He and I corresponded by email. I fully trust his experience and interpretation of it. Yet until I experience it myself, I can only speculate or believe it exists. Does that make any sense to you? Chenise Robert Wow, beautifully written! I resonate with everything you said. I also follow wherever I am lead, I am pulled in many directions but feel grateful that my intuition sorts out where I need to be and what I need to extract next in a way that is right for me. I do believe that many will be ready to unite all apparent boundaries between human, nature and beyond... it’s closer then we think. The more we embody the light, the higher we will go. Thank you for your beautiful post Gary, I look forward to seeing more of your wise words in this group 💗✨ Gary You express it so well, and your wording gives me a fresh way of viewing. 'grateful that my intuition sorts out where I need to be...' 'what I need to extract next in a way that is right for me' 'many will be ready to unite all apparent boundaries between human, nature and beyond... it’s closer then we think' 'The more we embody the light, the higher we will go (I have found that especially true, and can see it unfolding by the progression of my writing.... each post needed to open me to more.) May I add your comment to my post? Larry Vorwerk A nice thought out message on the subject of non-separation or Oneness. What come to mind as I read this is, it is only when in a state of pure love, that it is possible to experience and feel non-separation. Love is the glue that makes this possible, I believe. While in human form it is difficult to stay in that experience, but the more that one does it, the more frequent it can become. And yes as more souls experience this non-separation, the quicker we can create this new earth that we all long for. Thanks for sharing this message Gary. Gary Thank you, Larry. Another reader commented: 'The more we embody the light, the higher we will go.' Alex Gonzales Great narrative of feeling the now. Feeling what's in the now is an affirmation of our being. Huangbo Xijun said: "Here it is - right now. Start thinking about it and you miss it." We can't miss out life's happiness if we don't think too anxiously about it. When we step into the path of our journey, we have the roadmap and the birthright; they are inside our soul; let's go on with our journey. Along the way, there are gaps. Gap is a miss out; a break in continuity. The art of happiness is to put smile in a gap. Happiness is a wonderful heartbeat that fills any gap...with smile, thanksgiving and kindness. Light and love are our roadmap and birthright. Jesus Christ said: "While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light." Let's journey till last breath. Blessed be us all.🙏💟🌈🙂 Gary So true, all your words. This morning I realized again that by thinking I was missing the Now. An energetic hug to you.
