"We are NOT enemies! We are having a disagreement! This is where people should come together to look at both sides of the Disagreement and really think how we can use both sides to make something totally new called an Agreement. This can only happen if we work together.♥️ "I have seen a lot of new ideas on how to solve this but I think we could do even better! This is our Blockchain after all! Let's solve this issue like the MFing geniuses we are!👑 "It needs to be something that can get the feds off of our cheeks and it needs to be something that doesn't change Cardano's core Decentralized nature.🌐🌎🆓 Is it an L2 solution? Some sort of side chain? Could we use different kinds of legal arguments? Maybe if you choose CS pool when creating your pool it will have less blocks and less voting power vs non CS pool? "To me there is something beautiful in all of the discussions just waiting to be discovered.🏄 - @Lucidcc Gary - Your tweet 🐣 says what I feel, @Lucidcc. The most essential is to debate issues from a place of inner peace, inclusiveness and compassion -- not entanglement with complicating emotions. The community must learn to govern itself wisely and harmoniously. There's a time for holding on, and a time for letting go; a time for going through fears and relaxing into trust; a time for focusing on specifics and potential scenarios, a time for seeing the larger picture. ... "This is what shifting "permissionless" from a universal right enshrined at the base level, to one that is dependent on the whims of the day means. It goes from being simple to a complete shit show built on many assumptions." - @Redd_Spark Gary - Quoting you above, that's certainly one way to look at it. Forgive my ignorance, and please correct me. As a delegator/non-operator member of the community, it seems to me a central point of the CS or not debate is keeping the base layer open to everyone. Can a base layer open to everyone be guaranteed? Is it a question of philosophical purity? Without CS, when regulations require some to interact only over KYC, the base layer will not be open to all. With CS, perhaps it is more likely to remain open to most. As it does appear to be a question of philosophical purity, with no guarantees of positive practical outcome either way, CS or not may be a moot point. Perhaps 🤔it's time to look deeper. Which is the way of faith, and which of fear? With CS, who has to be trusted? The SPOs? The ecosystem? God forbid, the government? Favorable probabilities? I'm inclined to align with the position of @IOHK_Charles at this point. Philosophy won't save the blockchain, profitability will. Since 'no CS in the base layer' also excludes some players by likely regulation... it's also not a way of greater philosophical purity.
