GROUNDBREAKING CONTENTS - ZERO POINT SERIES A discussion begins in the Practical Metaphysics group with the question, Can anyone understand the analogy, God is to reality what zero is to math, and objectively refute it? I can neither explain nor refute the analogy, but had some fun exploring it. Perhaps someone with a mind for math could help me understand what zero is to math, in the context of the starting question. What came to my mind is 'zero point' which I'd not explored before. What I found with little effort was intriguing. These two excerpts from different sources give me a picture of 'the energy of the ground state' and the subatomic particles which behave like waves constantly flitting between different energy states. To my abstract and conceptual mind, it doesn't take much of a leap to imagine God as the ground state from which subatomic particles emerge or with which they somehow interact. I am curious also about the 'objectively refute' of this discussion start as I have written on the Whole Human blog about objectivity and meaning. Below are the zero point excerpts which I found: 'What is the meaning of zero point? In quantum field theory, the vacuum state is the quantum state with the lowest possible energy; it contains no physical particles, and is the energy of the ground state.' 'WTF is Zero Point Energy and How Could it Change the World? '....Zero-point energy, also known as ground state energy, could be the greatest gift the quantum world can ever give us. It’s a byproduct of the fact that subatomic particles don’t really behave like single particles, but like waves constantly flitting between different energy states. This means even the seemingly empty vacuum of space is actually a roiling sea of virtual particles fluctuating in and out of existence, and all those fluctuations require energy. 'If there’s as much energy in those fluctuations as some — though definitely not all — physicists believe, and if we could ever learn how to tap into this phenomenon, we would gain access to an unparalleled source of energy. Zero-point energy could power the planet with the strength of multiple suns, making it easy for us to solve Earth’s energy problems forever or to travel beyond the solar system and take our place among the stars....' Another question which comes to mind is, 'How does the zero point of energy relate to the centerpoint within?' COMMENT Taylor Cargile '....I will agree with zero point energy being the fundamental solution to unlimited free energy. I believe Tesla called it the Ether. I call it many things. But I also believe that in this state of energy is also where our consciousness slips in and out of space time. This consciousness that we have thought of so much is actually a collective of processed energy put out by the energy fields created by our Earth. I'm sure you've noticed that humans and plants give off the same EMF or bio-field? How our brains work and react in the same way that plants do.. Man when they tell you that everything is connected, it's not an over exaggeration lol.. I think by studying nature we should be able to realize that if we work in communion of one another that our possibilities skyrocket and out health will improve as well....' Gary R. Smith Very interesting, Taylor, especially to me, '... this state of energy is also where our consciousness slips in and out of space time. This consciousness that we have thought of so much is actually a collective of processed energy put out by the energy fields created by our Earth.' Is that consciousness an energy field only around the earth or is there another level of consciousness within the ground state energy as well? Does that ground state energy exist within our bodies or only in the 'emptiness' of space? May I include an excerpt from your comment in the Whole Human blog post? Tom Bunzel In considering the anomaly that DNA operates exactly computer code (software) I suggest that God is like the ultimate variable - devoid of value until imbued through consciousness/Life with meaning. Kristin Karen I think it as if 0 is consciousness. Everything becomes something or "nothing", dependent on the vibration of consciousness. Not saying consciousness is the "man in the sky" creator, but that awareness created itself from nothing. The rest is manifestation. That's how I envision the big bang. Not the academic sense of just the tangible aspect, but more from the manifestation side of it. Neil Poynton Check out field theory Gary R. Smith there is no point in space which is empty, it has fields which is like taking the temperature at different points in a room some of the bosons have zero energy at certain points in their field, the field is still there. Gary R. Smith Sub-atomic particles flit in and out of existence. Zero point flits or co-exists with energy. Stillness flits with motion. The Now flits with time/space. All that flitting creates consciousness. Human awareness, though, seems stuck. We mostly experience energy/motion/time/space. How would it be to live consciously aware of the flitting? How would it be to realize the Now equally with time/space? Taylor Cargile Well this "flitting" as you call it can only travel as fast as the speed of light, which happens to be the speed that which our neural receptors send information.. So if we could somehow slow down our cognitive framing we might be able to achieve some kind of energetic state of vibratory fluctuation? Gary R. Smith Taylor, I admit to going well beyond my knowledge-base in my explorations. It actually brought up some fear of ridicule (in the 'who I am', not in the 'what I am') to publish the post. I don't know how naive I am being. Therefore I especially appreciate your taking my explorations seriously. As explorations, anything should be considered, yes? When you say 'if we could somehow slow down our cognitive framing we might be able to achieve some kind of energetic state of vibratory fluctuation', are you referring to an individual experience of an energetic state of vibratory fluctuation in alignment with that of subatomic particles? It is a big if, of course, and I am assuming we are entering conceptual realms which may or may not have a foundation in actuality. The exploration seems wholly worthwhile to me, while realizing it is an unknown territory. The flitting came from an article which seems sound and balanced to my untrained mind. The article also states that the concept of flitting in and out of existence is believed by some but not all physicists. It is fascinating that another reader mentioned that DNA behaves exactly like computer software. As this was in response to the zero question, I am thinking that refers to the most fundamental on-off switching in computer code. 'Who I am' and 'what I am' are terms I apply in my daily life, they are part of my individual experience, and now I am wondering if those also can *consciously* flit. Before I get too far along though, Taylor, what potential value if any do you see in 'an individual experience of an energetic state of vibratory fluctuation'? The Higgs Boson and Beyond A very good audio book on the whole subject, a university level series of lectures, by a particle physicist at CALTECH. - suggested by Neil Poynton
