In 2007, I had a dream-vision of the night in which I floated above an ocean beach in a transparent sphere of light, very much like the one Jonsson describes (and depicted by the image). Later, in 2019, I wrote a moving meditation based on the Qigong set, 'Eight Pieces of Brocade,' and wove the light sphere into the breathing and movements, which I practice to this day. A search on the word 'sphere' on Whole Human brings up numerous instances for exploration. Jonsson's description of the sphere resonates with me: 'You may choose to allow your heart-field to surround you as a clear, transparent sphere. I refer to this as a Love-Sphere. This Love-Sphere is an exterior construct representing heart-centered awareness and the counter-rotating torsion fields that intuit information. [Gary's note: to me, the sphere is actually plasma energy made coherent by the strength of one's spiritual core.] 'It is your own personal reality bubble of love and your physical body is centered within it. This Love-Sphere can expand or constrict according to your preference. As a clear bubble of unconditional love, the Love-Sphere can serve as your atmosphere for being in the heart-field and navigating through the world from a space of completion....' She also writes, 'Relax. As you relax, say or think the words 'heart-light'. Relaxing actually eases us into the field of the heart, because when we relax our physiology, we naturally return to coherence and a centering in our being....' * With lifelong tendencies towards over-seriousness, my muscles are still usually tensed, mostly from 'over-seriousness' and 'over-thinking' — traits of Asperger's. To go where I deeply long to go as a spiritual explorer, it is needed to relax, and that's been the hardest for me to do. This week I started to play ocarina, a type of flute with a 12,000 year old history, made popular in modern times by a video game. With clear notes and a wide range, the 12-hole ocarina is a versatile instrument. It has been fun, satisfying, and... relaxing. Together with Jonsson's book, playing ocarina feels a timely and supportive component of my current process, mentioned as it may be helpful to others. Playing ocarina has ancillary benefits for me as it exercises my challenged respiratory system and puts me into a more receptive state towards the higher subtle realms. As a teenager in the seventies, I attended spiritualist meetings in Maine, which began by everyone singing a song such as 'In the Garden.' Even though the group wasn't Christian, the song put the medium in a space for receiving messages from spirit for the audience. I am not saying anything about spiritualism, only that the principle of vibratory resonance seems similar. The range of the ocarina is best suited for Christian songs and hymns, as it happens, and the worship lyrics, interpreted energetically rather than religiously, seem to lift me. In the Garden I come to the garden alone While the dew is still on the roses And the voice I hear falling on my ear The Son of God discloses And He walks with me And He talks with me And He tells me I am his own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known He speaks and the sound of His voice Is so sweet the birds hush their singing And the melody that He gave to me Within my heart is ringing And He walks with me And He talks with me And He tells me I am his own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known. With no prior experience, I am transposing the songs to play them by notes rather than by staff or tabs. * The terms 'standing waves, love sphere of light, and heart field' elucidated by Melissa Joy Jonsson are from both quantum mechanics and mysticism in that they refer to a realm which is beyond the senses yet intimately connected with each individual. From an individual perspective, they feel like they are accessed by going within, even though there is no separation between inner and outer. They are practical because unlike an intellectual abstract concept alone this mysticism can be applied effectively in everyday life. I use keywords to help me access this practical mysticism, by thinking or saying in any combination: • Standing Waves (and visualize the constant, ever-present undifferentiated presence in a medium of stillness), • Heart Field (and sense the extended spiritual energy pattern of heart-centered awareness inter-penetrating and surrounding me), and with feeling, • Light Sphere or Love Sphere or Heart Sphere (each with their own emphasis of inherent qualities and all the transparent bubble described by Jonsson, which I experienced as real in a dream vision.) Selecting and typing excerpts from the unique language of Jonsson's book (to include in blog posts) increases the personal potency of her words for me. Revisiting and reflecting on them deepens their efficacy. Jonsson wrote, 'An integration of all aspects of self creates a powerful trajectory for transcending the perceived limitations of duality as reality, to access our full inherent potential....' From her expanded awareness of integration, I distilled a new mantra, 'I integrate everything, from within the field of the heart.' In my experience, living from heart-centered awareness requires dedicated practice and long-term commitment somewhat like learning to play an instrument. As Anais Nin wrote, 'There are very few human beings who receive the truth, complete and staggering, by instant illumination. Most of them acquire it fragment by fragment, on a small scale, by successive developments, cellularly, like a laborious mosaic.' https://www.wholehuman.emanatepresence.com/blog/o QUOTES BY ANAIS NIN We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are. Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage. And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect. Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born. The role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say. We travel, some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, other souls. Do not seek the because - in love there is no because, no reason, no explanation, no solutions. You cannot save people, you can only love them. People living deeply have no fear of death. COMMENTS
Charles Bandelt I have much to relate. My own invention I thought. Was this protective sphere of light. I haven’t recalled a dream in ages. I did not come to know it the same way you describe. But one day I woke up very conscious of this sphere. Since I have an overactive imagination anyway I chalk most thoughts up to this and dismiss or placate such notions more or less on an intuitive scale as to the benefit or nonsensical behavior respectively. But the protective sphere of light didn’t just seem practical and harmless. It felt very real. Even accessible and controllable. Like if I look for it, it’s there. Not visibly or physically. But real nonetheless. And beyond that, it’s radiance and strength and even size are directly proportionate to how I’m feeling in any given now moment. Reading what you have written here gave me goose bumps. Because up until now I thought it was just an imaginary game I play by myself. Thank you for sharing. Gary What marvelous thoughts and explorations! Yes, the sphere is real, and influenced by the strength of spiritual energy and attention focus. In my dream-vision, as I floated above the ocean beach in the sphere, navigating it was like learning to drive a stick shift! It descended on its own when my pride was lifted up. I strengthen my sphere consciously each time I do the moving meditation. It is real to me, whether it could be measured or not, and I feel has practical purpose. I wrote more about it on the Whole Human blog: https://www.wholehuman.emanatepresence.com/apps/search?q=Sphere Thank you so much for sharing! May I add your comment to my post? 🙏 * Larry Vorwerk asked, [Will we make the changes necessary to create a wonderful world for all, or do you believe there is little hope for humanity at this time?] There is little evidence around me to suggest that a majority of humans will make the changes necessary to create a wonderful world for all, in our lifetime. I see few people thinking for themselves and acting from inner conviction to make sufficient changes in their own lives beyond changing diet or exercise habits. The type of changes needed go much deeper than changing habits or starting a new meditation practice. It requires facing oneself honestly and having the will to shine the light of awareness on every nuance of behavior, then shift engrained patterns. It goes deeper than behavior, but behavior can point to the underlying real issues, such as personal values, self identity and ways of relating to self and others. It's not so much a matter of making changes, as of expanding awareness and paying attention. A great help to me in this endeavor, in myself, is a book by Melissa Joy Jonsson, 'The Art of Limitless Living.' It goes into the depths necessary for real change, and makes it accessible for anyone with real interest. I've written a post on it and will submit it to this group. Each person can only change themselves, but each change affects the whole. I have faith that great changes are still coming, and some will experience a wonderful world. Thank you for asking, Larry.
